Phase I
Option A
Standard Plastic Wrap
0 — 4 hours
- Removal: Take off the plastic foil after 2 hours, or as soon as you get home.
- First Wash: Wash your hands thoroughly, then gently wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap (unscented). Use only your hands; do not use a washcloth.
- Drying: Pat the area dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use personal fabric towels, as they harbor bacteria.
Phase II
Option B
Second Skin (Medical Adhesive)
48 hours post-session
- Wear Time: Keep the bandage on for exactly 2 days.
- Fluid Buildup: It is normal to see ink and plasma trapped under the film (it may look like a "dark bubble").
- Removal: Peel it off gently under warm running water. Once removed, follow the "Daily Routine" below.
Phase III
Next Phase
The Healing Ritual
Days 1 — 14
- Wash: Always wash your hands first. Clean the tattoo gently with antibacterial soap.
- Dry: Pat dry with a fresh paper towel.
- Moisturize: Apply a very thin layer of recommended healing cream.
Phase IV
Pro Tip
What to Expect: The 3 Stages of Healing
- Stage 1 (Week 1): The area may be red, sore, and warm. You will notice "weeping" (excess ink, blood, or clear plasma). This is normal.
- Stage 2 (Week 1-2): The tattoo will begin to itch. Do not scratch. The skin will also start to flake—this is your body regenerating.
- Stage 3 (Week 2-3): Peeling and scabbing. Large tattoos may slough off like a sunburn. Let the skin fall off naturally.
Phase V
Do NOT do these
The "Golden Rules"
- NEVER pick or scratch: Picking scabs will pull the ink out of your skin, leaving "holidays" (blank spots) in your tattoo.
- No Submerging: Avoid hot baths, long showers, hot tubs, lakes, oceans, or swimming pools for at least 2–3 weeks.
- No Tight Clothes: Avoid friction from tight waistbands, straps, or shoes over the tattooed area.
- Approved Creams Only: Use only the healing cream provided/recommended, or natural alternatives like coconut oil or shea butter. Do not use any other products without asking me first!
